Nurburgring has become the performance benchmark race circuit for sports cars manufacturers, almost every week there’s a new car trying to beat the record, and the new record is here: 7:26.4 (with the GT-R making 7:29.2) and it belongs to the Corvette ZR1 2009, this new record has caused some controversy and continues being debated in specialized forums, because of that the guys at Garage 419 made their own test as you can see below.
Personally I’m NOT a fan of the whole “American Muscle” thinking cars, i prefer a small engine with the best engineering on it, so in the table below you can see the specs for both cars with the price included, if I could buy a car, with no hesitation i would choose the GT-R.

Of course The GT-R is by far a better car, it has 150HP and 240 N.m less and 200Kgs more than the ZR1, USD$30,000.00 less and just 3 seconds down… An obvious choice!!!
